I had purchased the mossy 535 3 barrel combo in november 09. I have put about 500 rounds of trap, a box of slug, and some 3 1/2 through it. I was cleaning it the other day after sighting it in for turkey and had noticed that the forgrip pump handle was cracked. Its cracked on the first cross rib where they put the pin throught. Its relativly hard to see being mossy oak but its almost craked from one side to the other. I have asked around and only heard of one more case of this. I was just wondeing if anyone else has had this issue?

Thanks
Steve

Mossy issue

I just got a 500 combo, I have heard of this happening. When I found out that the synthetic stocks are all pinned like this I almost didn't buy the Mossberg. After 4 months of thinking about it I went through with it.

I assume this would be covered by the warranty? Well at least I hope it is. I am quite happy with my 500, I have only used the Turkey barrel and a couple of slugs but am quite happy with the gun for what I paid for it. I wanted a shooter, not a showpiece.

Keep us (or me at least) up to date with what happens when you contact Mossberg. I have heard they are quite good with customer service, lets hope they treat us Canucks well.

i have had ny 535 for 4 years now and no cracks that i have seen .i have abused this gun from day one and it has never failed me at all .could yours have been dropped or something .as thy are real tough guns i hope you get the problem fixed DUTCH

Ive been in contact with mossberg and my local mossberg dealer. Mossberg siad that there has been several of these complaints. They claim that is caused due to the decreased hole diameter after the forgrips are covered in the mossy oak camo. I just have to bring it in to my local deler and get it shipped away. So once turkey seasons over Ill ship her out and let you know how i make out.

Thanks
Steve
