Picked up a Mossberg ATR rifle a few weeks back in 30.06....overall pretty nice little rig,has a matte black finish on it,came with weaver bases...
The trigger was not too bad at all,I haven't tore it down to see if it can be adjusted or not yet, hardly any creep, but I can live with it for sure
The stock was pretty decent as well for fit ,no sharp lines or edges anywhere...the feel and balance was pretty nice and not super heavy.

I had some factory Winchester Supreme ammo and a few handloads from last year that I was playing around...was extremely windy at the range,I tried to shoot between gusts but gave up. I still think for a $300 rifle, she shot pretty good...even the Stevens 200 in 243 was a good shooter as well, we rattled off a few handloads through it ....
The Mossy had Leupold 6 power scope and the Stevens had Bushnell Trophy 3-9 on it.

I would recommend either of these rifles for a first time hunter or just another toy to play around with....I think you get a decent gun for the price they are asking...just my thoughts anyway:D

Here are a few targets from todays outing...not the greatest groups, but now I have place to start playing around from.....

I like the appearance and the feel of Mossberg over the Stevens

As do I. Either one is a pretty decent entry level rifle for sure.

I never got a chance to try the Mossberg though, some guy in BC bought it......:p
