Most accurate glock?

hey, what's up with the name calling? that is not necessary.

it is precisely the fact that shooters and ammo are not as consistent, that makes me want to get a gun that has an increased sight radius- to compensate for other variables such as (in this case) the new shooter.

Why not spend the money on training and more ammo. That way the gear won't matter as much.

this is not an either or situation, since the G17 and G34 are pretty close in price anyway (ie. i'm sure that getting one would not preclude me from getting any less training or ammo). i'm sure i'll be spending lots on training and ammo, i was simply looking for the best model glock that would best fit my ultimate desire for accuracy. some people want a cool looking gun as their first priority, i want one that is reliable and consistently accurate as possible.

OK, how's this for 'increase' sight radius :D...

As per the Canadian Firearm Center, it's still a G17...

Fair enough. I say go with the 17, it is the Glock flagship model and any accuracy issues you're going to encounter will surely be the fault of the operator not the gun. Attempting to gain a fraction of an inch tighter groups is irrelevant when a shooter has a 5 MOA flinch or does not require such extreme accuracy for the intended purpose.

What you are forgetting is the numbers Wes posted are for 7 yards. Ask him to do the calculations for 25 yards . You likely will still be able to hit a man size target if that is your need or intention but for us "gamers" it could make the difference between an "A" zone hit or a "C" zone in IPSC or Down Zero in IDPA vs down -1. All things being equal the longer sight radius will improve the shooters ability to hit what he is aiming at, to suggest otherwise is nonsense. If you doubt this try shooting a 2" revolver vs a six inch revolver of the same make and model at 15 yards.

As to the Compact Glock's being more accurate it may well be the harmonics of the longer gun are not providing the mechanical accuracy of the compact models. I do note David Savigny has gone to the longer barreled Glock which tells me there maybe something to it.

For the tacitcool crowd the Glock 17 should be the choice I hear the Latvian Army uses it which should be enough to have us all running out to buy a Glock.

Take Care

sphinxter### you can ignore him, he's always a bit of a dink when he posts something.
