I want to put in my 2 cents here. The p7 is small my buddy has one but man that is 1 expensive gun, especially if it's certian modles that are more sought after your looking at 1500-2000 depending on condition. I have a Glock 19 with restricted barrel. It sticks out 1/4 inch. There's one up now on the ee actually for a reasonable price right now. Great gun I use it for IDPA as its a popular gun for conceal carry. I love it. Someone else mentioned an Ruger SR9..... Man don't even mention that I had one 3 years ago and it must have been the crappiest gun I ever owned. I couldn't even find a buyer for it. No one wanted it. I had to trade it away as part of a down payment for a quad I bought just to get it out of the house!
The Makarov however is an amazing suggestion and my choice to answer your question. Same look as the Walther ppk but completely different and for cheap! A walther ppk with restricted barrel used will run you what some used common p7s cost. But the makarov in 9x17 or 9x18 is 449.00 new and there's one up for sale in the ee for 375 shipped and it's brand new. I just secured the 380 acp model (9x17) from someone on here before it even went up on the board so I'm happy.
Go with the makarov and act fast that one for 375 on ee will go fast.
