My next gun is going to be a 10/22 for sure, in a matter of days. Curious what .22LR ammo is the most reliable?

I have put about 5 brands which equate to about 8 or 9 different types through mine, no mods, without a jam. The only issue I have encountered has been poor quality ammo - inconistent.

I've been feeding mine the 36 gr. copper jacket Federal stuff in the 550 round box from Wally World for about 10 years. It's fine, and like any other cheap .22 LR ammo, it only fails to feed when the guy you are trying to sell the rifle to is watching!

Though your mileage may vary cci minimags come up often as solid performers in 10/22's, though a 10/22 with a standard mag is pretty reliable eater of ammo. the hi-cap mags can be finicky.

I had my 10/22 for about 15 years and threw just about every kind of ammo at it with a jam. It`s the most trouble free semi of all guns I own.

I found the $14 a box Eagle (Remington) 40 grain solids to be reliable and fairly accurate. The CCI velocitors were a bit more accurate, but a lot more expensive too.

I have found cheaper ammo some times fails to eject. its a PITA, but its a fun gun.
I have found that its more accurat with wincheseter xpert than federal 525 packs from canadian tire. i havnt tried much else though.

The only 22 ammo that has given my 10/22 problems are Remington Yellow Jackets, which jam from time to time. Other than that, just about every type of ammo that I have tried has been good.

I use CCI standard velocity outta my Krinker with excellent acurracy and cycling. You can get them for around $20 per 500 from John. P @ Poco FYI.

tried my 10/22 today with butler creek mags.1 hot-lips and 1 steel-lips.the only problems i had was with the "federal champion 525 bulk pack".lots of stove-pipes about every 3rd round.the remington yellow bullets were fine as well as the winchester dynapoint bulk 500 box.

I usually shoot Lapua Superclub in my 10/22, and the odd Midas and Master when I am feeling lucky .

Never had a FTF and only about 3 - 4 FTE in about 2000 rounds out of these rounds. Just my fault for not cleaning the chamber every so many rounds.

For bulk I like the Federal bulk pack, Champions. I have gone through about 2000 rounds of the Federal pulk pack 525 round packs and have yet to have a problem. Of these 2000 rounds only about 250 were fired in my 10/22.

Ammunition that I am not so fond of is American eagle, Remington thunderbolts, and Winchester experts.

Dont use american eagle.

Worst....absolute worst crap out there.

 I love this ammo!! I use their 38g copper plated hollowpoints in my 10/22 with no hiccups or problems and they give me good accuracy for the money. My 10/22 has eaten everything that I've put through it. FWIW, I buy this stuff by the case (4000 rounds) at Reliable.

Yes, I like American Eagle as well. All remington low end 22lr ammo sucks IMHO. The dirtiest, most inconsistant stuff on the market.

diferent guns like diferent stuff.
mine seems to like american eagle for accuracy and reliablity
hates federal bulk backs for acuracy, but works good for reliablity
hates winchester for reliablity, but is decent accuracy
