Most reliable .22LR for 10/22?

I have found American eagle to be hit and miss. So far I have had 2 good boxes and 2 bad boxes. The American eagle I bough most recently would misfine in my Marlin 2000L quite often (1 misfire every 7 rounds or so). THe other two I tried out very good. Possibly just unlucky bad lot numbers.

I have found them to be very accurate for me though.

Seriosly? Usually with other ammo I only get 1 misfie every 1000 rouns or more.

Maybe i just have really bad luck with that stuff, but I wont use it!

Most consistent for me has been anything from CCI.

American Eagle is Federal....same/same, like UMC/Remington.

Dont use american eagle.

Worst....absolute worst crap out there.

My 490 likes it and doesn't have the misfires like thunderbolt has.

I really like the 38 grain HP in my 10/22. Good accuracy and it rips the gophers up pretty well. I have a GM barrel which might help.

IF you keep your 10/22 clean, meaning after every trip or at least every second trip to the range you clean her out throrougly ie: bolt, extractor, chamber, bore, guide rod etc.. you should be able to shoot any thing out there, however be careful with the CCI Stingers and other Hyper velocity munitions out there, althouth you think while your shooting them that "WoW" the rifle is cycling amazingly!" Your acutally on your way in having something break in your receiver because repeaters aren't really designed for that much "power". If you have a bolt buffer in there it will help that though. Treat your rifle like a queen and she'll treat you the same. A few after market things like an extractor, recoil buffer, reinforced self lubricating guide rod with regualr cleaning she'll never fail you no matter what cheap ammo you put through her. The problems you get from the cheap ammo is easily fixed by a good cleaning, the problem you'll get from Hyper velocity ammos can cost you money. Stay around the 1300- 1350 Muzzle velocity and you'll be fine.

lol weird. Never heard that before, for any type of firearm for that matter. You got yourself a 10/22 with an attitude Do you use a specific ammo with any upgrades?
