I see there are some different kinds of LAR-15 couplers out there, some metal some plastic. What is the most reliable kind, meaning the ones which will put up with the most abuse? Doing mag changes I tend to damage magazines very quickly unless they are high quality like Pmags so I am looking for something which will last, hold together properly and so on.

Also, if you suggest a certain type, please let me know where I can buy them as well.

Thanks

Here's what you do. Sell your lar mags and get some AT-15 10/20 mags from Alberta Tactical.

Nah, a friend of mine has them and they are still too short. I like my mags to be the same length as a traditional 30 round mag. Plus, if you are running a course, for example, with the two LAR-15 mags together you can load them both and put a cover on one end then when you are empty you just flip the cover to the other side and you are ready to go without having to reload.

Are they released yet? Heard of them today.

Yep! I picked some up last Friday.

Well, to each his own. Alberta Tactical also has couplers for the AT-15 mags.

IMHO these look much better than two LAR mags coupled togeather, better quality too.

Madmardigan, they are definitely a good product, I just prefer the full length size for training purposes. I wish they also made a full length version then I would buy a ton of them.
