Happy New Year everyone, hope this is the proper forum for this topic. A buddy of mine got a Moultrie I-40 infared game camera for Christmas and he is wondering what kind of battery life he can expect out of this unit when the temp is around -25 to -35. I told him that with the wealth of knowledge on this site that someone should be able to give him some real world expierience with this game cam.

Have a look around the hunting section. Lots of info on there...and check out the Photo-Gallery, there is a thread for cam pictures. :D

Just do a search on "tail cam"

I have no idea how long it will last at those cold temps, but I had mine out from July to Nov. and had over 900 pics with still 78% battery life when I took it out of the woods in Nov.

This model is great for battery life. Let me know if you have any infrared pics that should have been color pics. This model seems to have a tough time to decide if it is day or night, unless itsin a open area. So I would suggest putting it where the sun will get at it. Also mount it at least 7 ft up the tree angled down, bears seem to like them, trust me on that one.

You can get a full review of your cam at www.chasingame.com

Thanks for the info, I found some good stuff on this camera. That search function works well when you are smart enough to use it.
