Mountain rifle

I wouldnt want a detach mag on a rifle that would be used on multi day trips in remote spots of the country. If you lose the mag on your rifle, that would blow...

You must be those few that can shoot under MOA @ 500m with it.

Never tried it at 500, but I can hit the kill zone of a deer at 350 with the one I had..Shot about MOA or less at 100 yards when I shot it for groups. I don't see why it wouldn't be good at 500 as any other rifle that shoots similarly.:)

They are all good, kimber, sako, remington, winchester, weatherby, ruger, tikka and the list goes on, they all make good light weight long range rifles. My advice is " do not leave a tikka too close to the woodstove. Just kidding, my mountain rifle is a kimber Montana 7mm wsm, at first I thought I might not like the blind mag, but on a long hike Ive found it doesnt bother me at all, only a couple secs to unload. I also have a browning micro medallion in 284 win, one of the fastest rifles off the seat of the truck and it also make a good mountain rifle with floor plate and detachable clip. Yes stainless steal synthetics are easier to care for, but I have several blued rifles that Ive used for over 20 years that still look good and on vancouver island in november it rains and rains allot. I like all my guns cant seem to get enough of em. Does anybody know if there is a "GUNS ANONYMOUS" out there.
