Mounting a Bushnell 3-9x40mm

I have trouble mounting those. I've been able to mount my previous scope - Tasco 4x20mm on a 3/8" dovetail. It seems to me that this Bushnell fits only on a 1" dovetail. Am I on the right track? What are my cheapest options? Are there any brands that I should avoid? Thanks

The 3-9 x 40 fits on a 1". I am not sure what the cheapest option is or about the brands.

I like Weaver bases with 1" steel medium Burris Z or B-Square Lynx rings. Never had a problem mounting a Bushnell 3-9x40mm scope, yet.
