mounting a rooster 33 cheekpeice

alright, this may sound elementary but i was wondering if there is anything i need to concider prior to mounting to my synthetic stock. Do i just drill a couple of holes and pop it on or is there some method to the madness...(i dont want to put it in the wrong place.) thanks guys
