I know, tech heresy.

I have a friend who is bound and determined to mount his Elcan Spectre scope on to an SKS. I don't think the eye relief will even work. I don't know anything about SKS's but I remember reading about how sometimes the shell casings smash optics if someone doesn't mount them properly.

Could someone suggest a rail I can suggest to my friend that will allow him to mount the Spectre and prevent it from getting smashed?

Thanks

magwedge rail or the wartak one i dont know wich one is the best between these 2 bot they are probably the best option i think

and yes it heresy !

This is solid. Bolt can be removed for cleaning without touching the rail.

Wartak rail, magwedge, or check out Addley Precision's SKS mount too. Addleys mount will require bubba'ing the gun though.

I used a clevis pin for quick take-down when using the Magwedge rail. Never was a fan of stripper clips, so I didn't mind losing that option either.

I have mounted various 5.56 Elcans on 7.62x39 platform(cz) before.
You are correct eye relief is the concern.
Sometimes it was "ok" but sometimes you will eye kiss it.
Not the best configuration, nothing to do with price point.
