Hi Guys... I have a Smith and Wesson M&P 15. I would like to mount a 1x bushnell trophy T dot sight on it. I took off the carry handle and when I mounted the scope the front post is quite visible when I look thru the scope. I did some reading and I think I need either a riser or a mount on the carry handle. I would like to keep the scope as low as possible. Would a riser be adequate?
Thanks...

You do need a riser. It's gonna look like the one under the SPARC on the right, more or less. Can't help you where to find one though, I've always bought red dots that already had one in the box.

I use a American Defense cantilever mount with my Millet DMS so I can get proper eye relief and enough height to have a fold down backup sight mounted. It gives me enough height so that the foresight is visible a little below the centre of the reticle. I find that with carry handle mounts that I can't get a consistent cheek weld.

The other option you could do is put on a low profile gas block with the built in flip sight. Yankee Hill makes one.

Folds right out of the way.
