Mounting options for 99 savages?

Hi guys,just wondering what mounts were or are available for these?I have two piece weaver base that was on mine when I aquired it.I am wondering if there is a set up that would allow a bit more forward mounting of scope. Rifle is a 99e lightweight carbine and the buttstock is a bit shorter on these than normal. I just had a grind to fit limbsaver put on to compensate for the shorter l.o.p. Thanks

The bases you are using if they are weaver style, there is an extended weaver ring you could use to mount the scope forward.

I use a one piece Leupold base with standard rings on my 99 F. Bit of a pain when reloading but works. Perhaps a picatinny or Weaver rail with QR rings might give you some more flexibility.

Using the extended rings would be the easiest solution.
