Mounting red dot to single scope base

Hey,

I have a savage 99e in 308 win.

I want to put a vortex sparc 2 on it, but I don't have a one piece rail (I don't know that one exists for the 1899).

My question, will the red dot zero fine if I attach it to a single scope base?

Yes, it's a single screw mount so a larger or two piece base wouldn't make a difference anyhow.

This is what I was thinking.

I didn't figure my scope rings had a front/ back bias to correct for different height mounts (the 1899 has significant difference in height between from and rear scope base).
