mounting scope help

Hey guys

I want to mount my reflex scope on a 22 that my friend gave me. The problem is that the gun has mounting groves that are too small for the scope. The scope looks like it is designed to fit a weaver type rail. Does anyone have or know of, any type of adaptor that will fit on the grooves to make it a weaver type rail?


or should this be in gunsmithing? mind you I think that this is a common 22 problem so i dunno

Weaver makes a rail that slides onto a narrow tip off rail and is secured by a screw, converting it to a standard weaver rail.

I looked them up and I think that I understand how they work but I am not sure if you have to tap the reciever or if its a pressure fit?

 

[Wrong Way]

No drilling required. It is a pressure fit using two hex screws to lock it into place. Weaver makes them....and they are cheap (like 10-15 bucks)

B-Square also has a dovetail to Picatinny conversion. Will fit dovetails from 9.5mm to 13.5mm. More money but they work well.
