Mounting scope on Cooey Model 60

I recently acquired a Cooey Model 60 .22 and I'm looking to mount a scope on it. It has the pre-existing 4 holes for a side mount. Ideally I'd like a more modern 1" tube rimfire scope, just unsure what type of mount I should be looking at. Also looking for input on a decent optic that won't break the bank. Thanks in advance!
 
The weaver side mount base system attaches directly onto the Cooey 60 - it is either the #1 or #2 base, and then the short ring assembly to mount the 1" scope of your choice. So far as I have seen, all the older weaver side mounts were for 7/8" or 3/4" scopes.
 
#2 Weaver side mount. Noted! What's the diff between High Short/High Long with regards to scope mounts? I'm assuming high is the mounting position and short/long is the eye relief? Going off of Cabela's website it seems like both side mounting options they have are high. Since there's no cheek riser on the Model 60 I'm assuming I will have to build up the stock a lot for my eye to meet the scope?

Weaver makes this mount in two lengths.............short and long fyi.
The long is stretched out in the front to give scope tube length options.
 
Drill and tap the top of the receiver for a modern rail. I did it myself on a Cooey 600. The old thing is a tack driver!




The extra chunk of rail on the front of the stock is there for when Im behind a tree and prop against it to shoot
