Hey Everyone,

Noob question here. Is it really difficult to mount shell carriers, new sights, etc... on a shotgun? I have a shortie coming from Dlask and want to toss on a shell carrier, possiby fibre optic sights, and a Knoxx spec ops stock.

Is this hard to do?

The fibre optic front sight is the only hard one that may require a gunsmith. The shell carriers only require pushing out the trigger retaining pins and replacing with the bolts that come with the carrier. The stock replacement requires a small phillips screwdriver to remove the butt pad and long large screwdriver to remove the original stock and then maybe an allen wrench to install the new stock. I needed allen wrenches to put on both a Choate folding and a Butler Creek folding stock, I have never installed a Knoxx stock, so it may be different, but if bought new it will come with instructions. Maybe goto www.theshootingedge.com then goto products , then Knoxx then to tech info on the Knoxx of your choice. It tells how to install and tools needed.

I put on a Hogue forend grip (get the T-wrench), Mesa Tactical saddle (6 shell), on top of that a Busnell Trophy Red Dot scope and Knoxx Spec Ops stock. All pretty straight forward. In stead of buying the special hex ball-end driver, I just picked up a cheapie regular version and used my bolt cutters to cut off the end and then used a 3/16's socket, extension and ratchet. Worked like a charm.

Thanks guys... anyone that has a Knoxx Spec Ops stock try the 'powerpack' or do you prefer the Tactical Saddle?

I didn't get the powerpak as I really liked the 2 for 1 mounting capability of the Mesa Tact Saddle. The picatinny rail and shell holder all in one.

I had no idea that they had those tactical saddle rails! I was just talking about the sidemounts. Very cool!! Can you get those from TacOrd?

You can give them a shout and see if they have them or will order one (they don't seem to have one on their website), Simon (badboybeeson) carries Mesa Tactical as well. I found out about them after I had already picked one up on eBay.
