Anyone have any ideas on how to mount a SHORT single shot shotgun to a short AR15? I say single shot since a short barrel can't permit a pump.

Also is it legal to "bolt" two restricted guns together? I picture the barrel stationary and the receiver hinging downward to load a shell.

Wouldn't that be similar to a "Masterkey"? I thought any such addition was a no-no due to the shotgun being too short, but still being able to fire independently of the rifle - you could theoretically remove the shotgun and it would still be operationable.(can't remember what the minimum length of a shotgun is, but if it goes under than it's a prohib I believe). I'm sure there's others on here that are more knowledgable, but that was my understanding.

You should ask P0WERWAGON about this whole concept, he's actually made what's basically a Masterkey and my understanding is that it isn't prohibited because the AR is considered the 'stock' of the shotgun - he's done his with a pump and a longer barrel, however...you may run into tougher legal issues when looking at something that's more mobile then how he'd mounted his, which was semi-permanently, which may not work on a single shot...

I need to bring this thread back up.

With the new Dlask 8.5" shotgun this idea has really been floating around my head, that shotgun is GTG like that and non-restricted so I don't have to worry about getting OAL clearance (as I understand it when the shotgun is "mounted" to the rifle, the rifle (AR) has now become the stock of the shotgun, thus where the OAL is measured.)

Finding a KAC MasterKey will be hard enough, let alone finding one in Canada. However I was looking for any other alternatives be it 3rd party or a home brewn mount. I know a few guys here made one (powerwagon perhaps?) but anyways I don't have the energy to make one.

Just trying to get a project going here.

legal, but you can only use it at the range because the AR is restricted. all the same laws apply to the shotgun as before, pertaining to cutting the barrel. the AR is the stock of the shotgun.

given that the CFC have taken restrictions off pistol grip shotguns (the whole Dlask thing should apply to all pistol grips), this idea is more plausible now than ever. Of course the question in my mind is what happens if you mount it to an AR180 B2 ??? Armedsask has something new to try. :D
This actually makes sense in BC - I wouldn't want to try to defend myself from bear attacks with a .223, but an attached shotgun would work.

Yeah but.............with Armedsask's machined ar1080b lowers who knows?

New project, even mounting it on a AR would be cool:D

Three gun fun has awhole new meaning:rockOn:

The issue of mounting a shotgun is retardedly simple. Any half assed machinist should be able to do it. The problem is whether or not the host gun counts as the stock so we can mount a 12.5" barrled 870 with out it being prohib.

Heck , I just hold my XCR in my right hand and my auto loading 12 guage in my left and let it rip just like Rambo. To get the right look, I grease up my bare chest wearing a 12 guage ammo belt worn diagonally. While I squeeze off the rounds, I scream / growl at full volume.

I get some funny looks, but does that ever clear out the range----------a clean sweep!
