You should go the path of least resistance, but also the path that results in a good end, and purchase an actual springfield m1a rifle rather than one of those klinky norincos.

OK...Thanks for the opinion but budget is also an issue so the Norc route is the way I am looking at going. If there are real issues with the Norc as opposed to the "It's a Norinco so it must be a piece of crap" school of thought I would like to hear them please.

In case it's not obvious, my post was tongue in cheek.

For the money, you can not go wrong with a Norinco or Poly-tech. I have a shortened M305 with Garand sights, a USGI stock and a SAI scout mount. It's never let me down.

There's a million posts on this exact topic in the Battle rifles forum.
