I treid to minimize this by placing an ear plug between the two parts. But now I notice that when I pull back the cocking handle it stays open. I have to help it forward. I haven't shot it with the plug / spacer on yet but I wonder.....

Any one with such experiences out there? Any Ideas?

Thanks.

An 180B Guru (ArmedSask) told me to gently bend the sides inward with a pair of vice grips... It worked great, but he emphasized(?) gently. Hope it helps.

Which sides? The Upper I Guess???? Don't suppose one can bend the ‘plastic’ lower......

Did you ever try to place an ear plug and squish it in between?
When I did that the rattle was gone but like I said the carrier seemed stuck

Cheers

O.K., I don't have an AR180b, but I have a couple of ARs, and just recently a PE-90. The PE-90 has more play between uppers than my ARs do, and it still doesn't affect anything.
I've put earplugs in C7s, but more to stop it from rattling around on patrol than anything else.
Putting anything in to create more tension between parts will potentially make it worse over time, or in the case of bending stuff, create a problem from nothing. :slap: -rant over:wave:

Sorry I should have specified the sides. Check out this site it has alot of info on general 180B including stopping the play between the reciever. http://w w w.angelfire.com/sk3/volkarmorycustoms/generaltips.htm. I've tried a thin piece of that funny pleather stuff but it was too tight.

Good luck,

J

I should really update that site. Also, some one needs to sticky the AR180B FAQ I wrote.

The play between the upper and lower does not affect accuracy or the function of the rifle. Getting rid of it is a preferance thing. As mentioned, gently bend in the sides of the upper reciever so it holes the guide rod assembly more tightly.

Just so you know, I'm not selling anything so you can link directly to the site no problem.
