Moving away for school...registration questions

Hello,

I live in my parents house for the summer while I work. In september I go back to school and live in a rented house for the 8 month schoolyear.

Am I right in assuming that I have to bring my firearms with me and re register them to my school address since my parents do not have a PAL, or can this be considered as some sort of temporary away from home thing?

Long guns don't matter. They can be securely stored anywhere.
Restricteds are another matter.

if you keep your parents address on your id, it fine to keep them there. as you being out of town constitutes a temporary residense, as in your case education for a predetermined time, hope this helps.
