Hi all. I've been lurking in the background here for some time now.... taking in as much about this side of our sport (reloading) as I could manage, having never done this before. A friend of mine has been nudging me in the direction of reloading.

Well I finally took the plunge. I have bought a Lee Classic Cast Press, some Dies, and most recently ordered a Pact Digital Scale and Dispenser Combo, which hasn't arrived yet.

My friend said I have now moved over to the "Dark Side".

My question is directed to those who have used the scale/dispenser combo. As I understand it, this is an identical combo to the RCBS equivalent.

Is that right, or is this a totally different set-up?

As you might have already figured out... $$$$ was a factor in my purchases (hence the Lee equipment). I couldn't justify spending the difference for a scale/dispenser that is green, if there is no difference.

So from you experienced ones out there, am I right about them being the same, and only the color being different?

Actually your friend isn't quite correct. Once you decide to load the only 'true' powder.....the evil black....and dispense with that newfangled, fad-ish smokeless imposter.....only then will you have come to the Dark Side !!! ;) Once you have mastered loading the Black, then you may refer to yourself as a Soot Lord !!

I believe PACT makes the dispensers for RCBS. So yes its a case of color only. i have a PACT dispenser which talks to an RCBS's electronic scale.

Thanks John. That's what I was told. Much cheaper set-up this way.

the real dark side is when you start buying saltpeter at the drug store, get your sulphur off the railway, and use the charcoal out of the barbeque- and mix it up with a hammer and pestle in the back yard
