I have two .22's with dovetails only neither is drilled for scope mounts. My problem is that the scope and rings keep sliding back with prolonged shooting. They both have standard Weaver rings tightened with the wing key they give you to the point where I'm afraid one more twist might strip them. Any solutions out there ?????

Good idea, I'd try the green bearing and sleeve retainer for this though, just be careful not to get it anywhere you still want parts to move. Clean all oil, etc off, apply a little, assemble, wait 24 hours, and if it slides I'll be a monkey's uncle. It will clean off later without too much trouble if you ever need to. I also replaced the thumb screws on mine with black allen head machine screws from a bolt/fasteners supply shop, for more clearance and easier to tighten fully.

I had a Stevens and so did my brother that both did the same thing as your gun. I used red Loctite and it solved the problem. It is hard to get it out of the dovetail grooves if you want to remove the scope again.
I do have Leupold rings on both my CZ .17HMR and .22LR without any problems if you would like to switch rings.
