For interest: here's how moving targets look in the UK.

The POA was about 6" ahead of the target at 100m on the faster of the two speeds to hit dead centre. Tough match, but lots of fun. Definitely puts our walking man to shame.

Many private ranges in the US have some pretty sophisticated mechanical targetry for snaps and movers. They use them in 3-gun and precision rifle matches.

Yes, you can see it in the first video. They can have snaps and movers in the same stage. The AR video and the PR one are on the same range, but at different distances. You can see the longer distance portion in the first video at 2:31 to the right.

These long mover runs require the shooter to adjust their shooting position as the mover progresses, something you don't need to worry about when your mover is only going the distance of one shooting bay.

with automated targetry its not hard to set up movers and popups all based on one set of lifters. You don't have a traditional marking gallery.

biggest problem is trying to retrofit an existing range, and making the danger templates work.

Oh and there is the cost, looking at about $1M for a 20 lane range.
