Good day all, moving to Ottawa this summer, was wondering what’s out there. Interested in target shooting .I was a member of the Stitsville shooting club, but that was 20 years ago when I join the military. Also wondering about gun shop. All the help would be very appreciated.

Stittsville range is still running; EOHC has a better club and more competitions; the RA Centre has .22 targets and indoor handgun; various clubs squeeze onto Connaught Ranges for fullbore; and there are other clubs in Smiths Falls, Cornwall and Prescott. Take your pick.
There is a very active NDHQ Navy shooting team that is glad to accept new members.
We have one extremely productive gunsmith in town Jason Spencer. New guns in shops are sold by Lebarons but their customer service and stocking is erratic.
Are you posted or on IR? Makes a difference for your transport permits etc.

maple_leaf_eh has it pretty much covered. I'll add that Stittsville has a decent 'pro shop' and will order parts/ammo if they don't have it in stock. I believe there is also a club in Arnprior (indoor/handgun?). It's a small city but where you live in Ottawa may influence your choice of ranges (EOHC is EAST of Ottawa, RA is downtown, Stittsville & Connaught are WEST, and everything else is further out in the valley - West/South).

I would add that in addition to target shooting the RA club ( nearer to the south end of town than downtown, BTW) has a very active IPSC schedule -almost every saturday afternoon and evening & in the winter puts on 4-5 level 1 and 2 level 2's matchesover the fall/winter

Interesting... going to Ottawa and using "lucky" as part of your handle.
Seems like an oxymoron, doesn't it?
(I was posted to Pet when I got out, and lived in the Ottawa valley for another two years after that. It is beautiful country, with much for the outdoorman to do. I miss it greatly! )
