I know that the MP5's are all restricted or prohibited, but I was wouldering if I could modify one of the 22lr magazines from a GSG MP5 22 to fit in oh lets say my AR-7. Would that be allowed or because the firearm is prohibited that means the magazines are as well.
Thanks for any information on the subject.

Very good question. You may want to contact Blueline to shed some light on that. If I had to guess, they could probably be imported without any problem, but RCMP would first have to confirm it is not a prohibited device. How that would all go about, I have no clue.

Also, you have no way of knowing if you could even modify it successfully. Why not start from scratch?

My first thought was to make my own design then when I was looking around for ideas I seen these magazines and seen how they would be easy to load becasue of the siding lever on the side of the magazine. So I though I'd try one first and if it didn't work I'd only be out the cost of the mag but could come out with some more ideas and maybe some parts. Pro may also makes a magazine for the marlin 795 that would probably be easy to mod. but I cant seam to find one anywere.
buy the way thanks for the info. sewktbk

Gamer,
The marauder magazines are just 10/22 magazines that use the coil spring, which make these types of magazines much to fat for what I want to do. So I need to start with a mag with a normal spring of just find someone that sells mag springs.

The mags would not be prohibited. There are all kinds of mags for prohibs like AKs, FN FAL, Dragunov etc all available in Canada. The problem would be the cost for a dealer to import mags with no market in Canada. A handful of mags is not worth it to them I'm sure.
