Maybe it is just me, but it is interesting that they went with a Savage action over a Remington (lower price, better accuracy??).

Looks cool.

Likely price and the ability to change barrels easily. You're going to see more rifles offered with drop-in replacement barrels. People are burning out barrels at a pretty high rate shooting and training for these matches. Gunsmith fees and wait times are a killer for many people.

I like the look of that.......

The Savage would definitely be the ticket for barrel swaps if you are putting a lot of rounds through the pipe practicing.....

Looks similar to the MDT LSS/Skeleton stock set up..........but with a few more bells and whistles aimed at PRS.

So how would this be a production rifle?

Fit the rule, not the spirit me thinks... I don't know if it even fits the rules.

"The Division is not meant to be gamed by experienced shooters looking to win a trophy by sandbagging.
Production Division rifles are not permitted to be altered or improved in any way from the original factory configuration."

Except the original factory config is a fully optioned and customised rifle..... I dont think you should be able to check off the options boxes when ordering an "off the rack" rifle.

AFAIK, Savage repeater actions dont come with this list of bling from the Savage factory. And the receiver MIGHT be the only truly "production" part in the whole rifle.

MSRP $1999.99..... for a US sold rifle, this is kind of pricey for a parts rifle. Do the math on what it costs to "build" this rifle from all the parts and I bet you spend way less then this. Pick your parts wisely and you could be well under $1000 USD.

So if I order a GAP, or AI or PGW and spec from a "set" list of parts, do I also have a production rifle?

Ummm.... The ruger pr is bad enough

The only thing I completely agree with... prefit match barrels on barrel nut headspaced actions with floating bolt heads WILL be a large part of PRS.

And they said the Rem 783 wouldn't be interesting.
