MRA Renegade Build Question

I'm considering one of those Renegade receiver kits to transfer the parts from a complete AR15 rifle. Aside from what parts fit or don't, is it legal to transfer the barrel, trigger group, etc from a complete AR at this point in the laws to leave the AR as just a bare receiver? Would the Firearms Center allow re-registration of the AR at this point to just the receiver (ie: no barrel length)?
