MRA Renegade MK2 Barrel Mod

Good Afternoon & Happy Weekend to everyone.

I was wondering if the 12.5” barrel on the MRA Renegade MK2 can be modified to accommodate the 16” barrel and hand guard?

Would it be as simple as buying the 16” barrel and hand guard and swapping the two?

Are these components sold separately?

Yes. It would be a very easy swap.

You don't even need to change the handguard.
You could just leave the extra barrel length sticking out if you wanted to.

That question really cannot be answered by anyone, except you.

It's totally a matter of personal taste, and how you like to hold the rifle.

Should be a standard AR barrel and handguard, so there are a lot of choices out there. If you use a normal barrel you have to block the gas vent. MRA has a barrel collar that will do that, or they sell unvented barrels.

For handheld use, a short handguard is fine. If you want a bipod or iron sight out front then you need a long handguard, or you might have other accessories you want to mount or like to have the barrel shrouded closer to the muzzle.

Thanks for the info, i think ill try the 16” barrel with the stock hand guard and see how that feels first. I do like the idea of finding a standard AR barrel as well.

If I can get the barrel from MRA directly that would be great. Buying from RDSC is an option, but then the barrel is going from ontario to alberta and then back to Ontario to get to me. Kind of a waste of resources.
