Looking for pros/cons if there are any operating issues with either to consider? They will be plinkers/ coyote rifle. Is one any better than the other? Thanks in advance.

I have an MRA renegade II and the fit and finish is quite nice. Purchased brand new and had a couple minor issues. There is a screw and 2 metal dowel like pins holding in the charging handle to the bolt and one my pins got stuck pretty bad requiring multiple types of plyers to fish out. MRA sent me replacement pins after I got it finally out. So A+ on their customer service.

I did do a CGN post if you do have a stuck dowel pin....

This is probably the rifle still breaking in, but sometime when I let the bolt go forward to chamber a round, the bolt sometimes doesn't lock forwards / bounces back slightly. The hammer will go forward and smack the back of the bolt/firing pin and it won't fire, but looks like it just fully locks the bolt forward. This has gotten better with use so the action probably just needed to be run a few hundred times to smooth everything out. What I did in the mean time was whenever I charge the rifle I just give a confirmation push forward on the charging handle to ensure that it is fully forwards, kinda like a forward assist.

I really like the renegade, short 12in barrel with MRA's rock solid muzzle brake. (I had the MRA trident 3 prong but the ringing sounds it makes after every shot is annoying as heck). A+ Customer service if you have any issues.

I've had both. I no longer have my PAR. I still have the Renegade. The amount of customization you can do with the renegade is more than you can do with the limited nature of the pump action on the PAR.

I've never had my bolt "bounce back", but the only time I had issues with the bolt putting a round into battery, was if I accidentally rode the bolt handle forward with my hand, instead of just letting it go and letting the buffer spring push it into battery.

I was very seriously considering a PAR in .308 for a while there. What changed my mind was:

1. Firing from the prone is less than ideal with the pump.

2. I don’t want to risk a training scar with actual semi-auto rifles. The ergonomic similarities sound like a great idea right up until your brain tells you you’re sbooting the other gun.
