Mueller scopes

I've had two now....well, really one that was returned and replaced.

It was a APV 4.5-14x40AO Silver that was purchased new. Out of the box, the adjustments were very stiff and the scope had no windage adjustment at all. Promptly replaced, the new one has been on top of a Savage Mark II BTVSS and 100% problem free.

I would consider another one, at that price point and with that service level.

i picked one up an APV 4.5-14x40 from a local shop for 140.00 as they hadn't had much activity on it, and overall i find it to be a good scope.

it's clear enough for my liking, no where near my bushy 6500, but then it's 5 times cheaper than the bushy as well, plus the power range and AO is nice for that price point:)

I am interested in a APV 4.5-14x40, but the MSRP on the Mueller website is 130USD, compared to 230CAD on the white falls website. I get that Canadian prices are generally higher, but I expect a few percent over MSRP for the most part, not 175% of MSRP. Are there dealers with better prices?

He has shipping/Permits/taxes,duty to deal with

I have an APV and for the rimfire I bought it for I am very happy. I had it on a .223 for a while till I upgraded and it was fine. Don't know if I would put it on my hunting rifle for a once in a life time hunt but it's very nice for a rimfire.

mueller isn''t the only one doing that, leupold seems to be one of the worst for this

here is an example of a high end leupold vx3

leupold vx3 4.5-14x40 duplex reticle standard turrets

cabelas.com=529.00USD

cabelas.ca=889.00 CAD

that's alot of permits per scope:rolleyes:

The problem seems to be that at least one other place (truenortharms.ca/mueller.html) has them for a better price ($165). However, it looks like something out of someone's basement, and really, that shoots up red flags. I would rather pay a little extra and be assured of good service, but would also rather not pay out the nose if I do not have to.

Bought two scopes off True North no problems what so ever. Good guy to deal with.

Would buy from him again.

Anyone on here own one? Are the any good? do they hold there zero? Looking at the 8x32x44

When they were under $300 and you could grab them off eBay, they were above average for their price range. They have crept up in price, and now they are no better or worse than any other cheap scope.

I have a 6-25X50 eraticator on a gopher gun and it is adequate for its purpose, but beside my Nightforce and Leupold scopes, their "issues" are self-evident.

If you simply cannot afford, or do not want to spend top dollar on a scope, it is as good as any other in its price range.

Odd, his red dot prices seem on par with the Mueller website.

Interesting discussion. I am looking at the Mueller 8-33 X 44mm Side Focus. $195.00 at True North Arms. I notice it is a pre-order item. Otherwise I am considering a Vortex with similar specs.

The side focus is quite popular. It is $295 though like the Eraticator, not $195. No complaints about it at all, just great feedback like most Mueller products.

Not sure why that is so high. Mine are $165.

You are correct about the basement, but that is how I save cost. I get them from the Canadian Distributor and totally legit. Warranty is straight exchange not "send it in the have it fixed". I've sold over 50 now and not one complaint. Whitefalls gets it from the same place I do.

Cheers
