Multi-Use Scope mounting

So I'm getting set on purchasing a scope for my AR15 instead of a red dot/Acog etc.

My questions is. What mounts are going to be good to use to mount a Vortex PST 2.5-10x32?

Secondly. Is there a mount that will also be able to take the scope off the AR and use on a hunting / target rifle if required, or is that a bridge too far?

Burris PEPR? Would only work on the second rifle if it had a rail, but great for an AR

A scope that is mounted at the correct height for an AR would probably be much too high on a standard hunting rifle. Maybe you could have the scope in a lower set of QD rings that fit your hunting gun, and then mount that assembly on top of a riser on your AR?

I'm a firm believer on good quality removable (QD) mounts, but not swapping scopes so mounted between guns. The mounted heights may be "wrong," and you'd lose the zero every time you swap the mount. So, IMHO, definitely "a bridge too far." Others are free to disagree.
