Ok, I don't have my CZ with me anymore so bear with me. Here are some thoughts.

1) An AK style selector. I know that the 858 selector requires more travel to go from safe to fire than the AK, or at least I assume so. Could the selector internals be modified to make it require slightly less travel, and therefore allow for the ak style selector?

2) Cocking handles. After seeing another cgn'er move his cocking handle from the right side to the left, why not remove the cz handle and weld on an ak style in the right place?

3) Dust covers. I know that the cz ejects almost vertically sometimes, but there's no reason that the cover couldn't at least act as a deflector for the casings to force them to the right, while still looking like a menacing ak dust cover.

What do you guys think? I'd volunteer to do it, but my fal lookalike project has already spoken for the next 2 years of my life.

1) Far as I can tell no.

2) Shouldn't be a problem but it would make it harder for a right handed person to use.

3)Considering how the VZ58 ejects I think it would cause jams.

Good thinking though. I think an SKS would be a better rifle to start from on something like this.

Thought about that.. the gas system looks better, but the biggest problem for looks is the mag being way too far forward of the trigger on an sks. Had a pic somewhere of an AK'ised sks and it just didn't look right... Although anyone with pics could post them to prove otherwise..
