I have a borescope to use on my phone but it is sometimes inconvenient to use in the field. I have seen that some shooters use lighted arrow knocks for checking the bore, cheap and plentiful. They are listed on Amazon but what is missing is the O.D dimension. They supposedly work for a .50 cal but how about .45 cal?

Traditions sells a little light that fits down the bore. Twist to turn on and drop down the bore. Works on my 45’s and 50’s.

Try a white cleaning patch, shove it down the barrel then shine a flashlight in there, it will light up the entire bore, retrieve the patch with a worm or small diameter cleaning brush.

Amazon - they will fit a .22 - get any colour but red.

Iv seen a few lights and lighted objects over the years... But one thing I keep returning to is a simple MagLight. One that uses 2x AA.
I just focus the beam, say pointed at the floor. Then look in the muzzle with the beam pointed in as much as you need to see in the barrel....
Typically I can focus at points of interest along or at the breach...
Its been my Go-to for decades now.

And this thread is about muzzle loaders where doing that will have people gently taking the gun away from you and ushering you away.
