Muzzle brake a barrel part under ITAR? (Brownells order)

I was putting in an order for some stuff from Brownells and a muzzle brake was removed from my order with the message "DUE TO DDTC RESTRCTIONS ON SME (SIGNIFICANT MILITARY EQUIPMENT) WE HAVE CANCELED ITEM(S) FROM YOUR ORDER."

I thought the restrictions on export are only on frames, receivers, barrels and barrel liners. I'll give them a call tomorrow, but anyone have any nuggets of wisdom for a first time Brownells customer?
 
Brownells doesn't export receivers, barrels and muzzle devices without an export permit. I've tried ordering brakes in the past only to be removed.
