So, I have seen a few supressors up close to the handguard, but what about muzzle brakes?

What if I had a 10.5" bbl, a brake, and 10" handguard? I'm not sure how that might work... any experience?

no issues with compensators that direct the blast and sound forward, if you use a brake that directs the blast to the sides there may be (not 100%) issues.

i use the Troy Claymores, Noveske Pigs, Dlask XB1's, and PWS CQB Diablo's with no issues.

You should be fine as long as the handguard doesn't cover the baffle/ports. If it's a 10" free float tube you may be get some powder residue on he end of the tube but that's about it. I highly recommend using a handstop at the end of your rail though.
