Muzzle brake for Steve 200 in 223

Take a look at the ones at Brownells. Most anything without holes in the bottom will reduce muzzle jump. They also say in some of the descriptions what caliber it is best suited for. As for getting one shipped up here I believe they are on the restricted list. Then can be made without huge problems. I've made a couple and they seemed to work without complaints.

I think you mean holes on top, holes on the bottom would direct the gases down an increase muzzle jump.

Call Kevin Keon at Dycor 1-780-942-4096.
He designed and built and installed a really neet one for his Stevens 200.
He also shortened the barrel and made it into a "Scout" rifle!

No, I can't handle it. It's so light that recoil sends it flying.
I would have gone back to shooting 7.62 but it costs me more for the ammo of the same accuracy, so I am stuck with 223 for a while.

For a stevens 200 you would be better off to add weight to the hollow buttstock, and you could bed the barrel at the same time with some lead laid in the forestock. It would be easier on your ears than a muzzle brake.
