Just purchased a muzzle brake take off for my savage. Question first time installing one, I need to get thrust washers or shim kit. Any suppliers you know of that would have these. Any other tips installing it. Be gentle, yes it's the the right thread pitch and and is from same cal.
Thanks in advance

Brian

Sound like your good to go , add crush washer , thread on .. Done deal , just make sure it's indexed properly so the escaping gas doesn't push the muzzle one direction or another

I'd go for a peel washer over a crush washer. Come cleaning time its nice to be able to remove the brake, there can be a pretty serious buildup of hard baked on carbon on the crown that's tough to get at with the brake installed. Crush washers are one time use while peel washers are both reusable and adjustable so the brake indexes at the torque you want. If you go crush washer, remember to have at least 1/4 turn of crush to keep the brake from backing off. You may have to stone, file or sand it to get there.
