I have a spare .532-faced action, and I'm contemplating a braked 7mm RM build for it. I'd have to sell my other precision rifle to pay for it, so I figure I should ask first...

Would a braked magnum be a faux pas at a DCRA match? Would anyone be annoyed by this?

You might want to have a read through the DCRA rule book and contact the DCRA for a definitive answer. Some disciplines don't allow magnums cartridges or muzzle brakes.

From the DCRA rule book:

-
General
. The principles of Rule 12.21 apply
to all types of rifle used in DCRA
fullbore competitions. In addition, no rifle shall be fitted with a muzzle brake, flash
eliminator, flash hider, tactical vent or similar device which may cause muzzle blast to stir
up dust or to be deflected towards near
by competitors.

Muzzle brakes are a no-no for Target Rifle and F-Class, but are permitted for Precision Rifle (during NSCC).

Whether the magnum will fly depends on the specific combination of BC and muzzle velocity. There were plenty of guys running 300 WSMs and 270 WSMs at the F-Class World Championships last summer.
