Muzzle break for CSA 5.56?

I have the NEA hybrid on my 18.75" 5.56 CSA. My understanding is that the threads are the same as all the 7.62 models, so any cz 858 brake should work. Only problem I found with mine is that the brake doesn't properly index with the detent (correct term hopefully) on the front sight assembly. I find I have to re-tighten roughly every hundred rounds.

I figured the threading is all the same.

But I'm also reading that these breaks were all made specific for the 7.62x39 models.

Are the 7.62x39 models compatible with the 556 round?

This is a total guess on my part, but I imagine a brake meant for a 7.62 may be slightly less effective with a 5.56 bullet going through it (ie. more gasses ejecting out the front around the fired bullet than with a 7.62 bullet the brake was designed for) If this is even the case, I doubt it would be noticeable, especially with the mild 5.56.

I don't know if thats what you meant by compatibility, but i find mine to be quite "compatible". Let us know what brake you end up going with :)

Hmm.

My curiosity stems from the fact that all if not most of the breaks Im seeing from NEA or DLASK for example, all have 7.62 explicitly noted in the product info.

That gave me the impression that these are 7.62 specific breaks. Would that lead to loss of accuracy or even increases in muzzle flash, recoil or noise when used with the 223 round?

Should I be looking for a 223 specific break for my vz?

Maybe I should call and ask one of the manufacturers of these breaks...
