Muzzle break on tikka t3 .270win???

Thinking of getting a muzzle brake for my tikka t3
Any input on whether its worth the investment or leave
It as is
I would like to have less recoil felt for better shots
I would need to get barrel threaded
Is it worth it and if you have done it a review would be appreciated

Have you tried putting on a better recoil pad? I would do that first before trying to have a muzzle brake installed. PAST makes some good wearable recoil pads:

Install a Limbsaver on the rifle, and save some money, and your hearing.

If you have the spare cash, why not? It will be louder. Your rifle, make it look how you want it to! Not to mention it looks badass.

Muzzle brakes work very well at reducing recoil, they will make the gun louder to people close by. I havent checked prices lately, but 200.00 or so?

If you are doing a lot of target practice then muzzle brakes are the cat's a**! If you are going to hunt with the muzzle break on, you absolutely must wear hearing protection. No questions asked.

I have a tikka T3 tactical in 300WM with a muzzle brake and it is a wonderful thing. Makes shooting the 300 feel like a 243. And when I take it hunting I screw the muzzle break off and put on a thread protector.

If that sort of scenario interests you, I would recommend a brake that can be removed by the user. Some are permanently fixed.
Threading a muzzle is usually $40-$70 and muzzle brakes range from $150-$350.
