Muzzle break Question

I don't really want one, a guy pitched me a Sako S/S 338 yesterday with a brake and I was trying to find outr how easy it was to neutralize.

For about 75$ you can get a threaded end cap put on your pet cannon, which will likely stay on permanently, since a break on a 338 is not required. I had one put on my Supergrade 13 years ago, and wish I hadn't, horrible noise factor and if shot prone, can deflect rocks and crap back into the shooters grill.
