Do we have a consensus as to the best muzzle break there is for the sks? I don't know much about them. I don't know if I can install one since I have a front Firesight installed... can i still put one on that says it pins to the front hood?
What do you use?
Thanks.

Muzzle brake

Well, many will say that the best muzzle brake for the SKS is the one you DON'T PUT ON IT!
IMHO, all the currently available drop-on SKS muzzle brakes are so-so propositions.
The only really serious option would be a threaded and locked one but it involves getting rid of the bayonet, setting the front sight unit back a bit and cutting a standard muzzle thread at the muzzle for accepting a Vortek or other high efficiency flash hider or AK combination muzzle brake/ flash hider.
Unless you are a machinist, you will spend good money to counter a non-existing problem (recoil).

If you're dead-set on a brake, I'd go with the pin-on style like Holleyman's. Use lots of loctite! Apparently P&D sells them, and you can probably get them off eBay as well. Good luck, post pics!

I have seen them at gunshows..usaly around $35.00.

I might get one for the bling factor...And to acoustically pay the Magnum rifle users back at our local range. :D

If you seek REAL revenge, go and buy a Hakim with some good 8mm surplus ammo (NOT TURK!);)
Just make sure YOU put on earplugs under your earmuffs.
