Hi,
what do you think of drilling a muzzle break right into a rifle barrel?
Taking off about 2 inches of rifling and drilling holes on the
muzzle side?

Thanks

If that is all you do accuracy will suffer terribly. The holes will be all burred coming through into the rifling and on edges of the lands and grooves.

40 years ago it used to be done and a larger diameter recess was cut. It was called a Pendleton Muzzle Brake and offered on Weatherby rifles.

Between the two, a removeble muzzle brake is much better because you can remove it for cleaning the rifle and it is easier to make and install than it is to machine one integral with the barrel.
