Are those Muzzle loading "kit Guns" pistols restricted? Remember the ones you bought in a Finish it yourself kit? All parts were there, you just finished, and assembled.
The Antique Firearms Regulations (SOR/98-464) of the Firearms Act list a Schedule of what is considered an Antique (and thus un-regulated under the Criminal Code):
1. A reproduction of a flintlock, wheel-lock or matchlock firearm, other than a handgun, manufactured after 1897.
(Plus 2. - 7., arms of actual antique manufacture.)
So a functional reproduction of an Antique handgun is a Restricted firearm. Just as anyone who owns a black powder or cartridge reproduction cowboy gun already knows.
Now a *non-firing* Replica of an Antique is specifically excluded from the CC definition of a prohibited Replica. So an old Roy Rogers cap gun is fine, too.
