Took a nice nine (9) pointer with the lyman deer stalker in 50 cal. during ml season. Left the encore in the cabinet and used the lyman - glad I did. Really pleased with the performance of the lead ball - the way it stayed intact and flattened. Heart shot and the buck went less than 100'.

I started using muzzle loaders 2 years ago. The season in Sask is typically Oct when the weather is awesome and harvest is over. Deer are moving a lot and haven't been pressure by the road warriors and you have to actually hunt them to get within a decent range. During these years I've only had to venture out with the rifle five times to fill my tags.

I love muzzleloader hunting great buck BTW. He'll taste great:D
