Can someone point me in the right direction to find a modern inline like a CVA accura v2 and a sidelock? Which sponsors carry/specialize in ML?

Aside from biz box stores, where do you tend to buy your ML gear, primers, sabots and powder?
Thanks in advance!

Al Flaherty's Outdoor Store, Ellwood Epps, Prairie Gun Traders and Frontier Firearms to mention a few.

I mostly get my supplies from a local small gun shop. But have bought from Wholesale Sports and Cabelas.

Im in the same boat as the OP but with a few more questions.

First, can ANY common 50 cal muzzle loader (rifled) use the exact same ammo?

Second, can you purchase a gizmo that you can pour melted lead into to make your own projectiles?

Third, as an example, these projecties would work in the CSA wolf or Thompson Impact muzzleloaders? (50 cal rifled).

im looking at these atm

Canadian tire has this one on for $299.

I have no idea if its any good........ I want it so i can go deer hunting NOW, from a blind, bait 50m away

also, do these take the old school black powder? (and if not CAN they)

Question #1: Yes. But almost every rifle will have a "favourite" load. You have to shoot a your rifle with varying powders/projectiles to find out which shoots best in your particular rifle.

Question #2: Yes. It's called a bullet mold. See leeprecision.com for examples. There are other suppliers too.

Question #3: Yes. However, most guys I know who shoot in-lines prefer to use "manufactured" bullets from Hornady or Barnes or other companies. See hornady.com or barnesbullets.com.

As to your question about black powder: Yes, again. But just about every in-line shooter seems to prefer to use black powder substitutes and/or pellets.

I have no personal experience with in-line muzzleloaders so I can't help you with a choice. Except to say that Thompson/Center does make some great quality rifles. Do an on-line search and read some reviews. Look at YouTube videos - lots out there.

x2 to what goldenlakepete said.
I own a TC Omega that I bought from the Equipment exchange and have been extremely satisfied with it. I use Blackhorn 209 loose powder after experimenting for a couple of years with pyrodex and triple seven pellets.
I think the TC guns all come with a lifetime guarantee, so you can't go wrong for $299.....
Good Luck,
DavidS

I bought a TC Impact for my son. It shoots nicely to 100M ( I do not shoot further with muzzle loaders) and 100 gr of pyrodex behind a 300 gr XTP in a black sabot works just fine. It is a solid rifle and well worth its price tag.

quick question guys

I have a thompson center impact 50 cal in line muzzleloader

will it take 50 cal maxi balls???

all ive fired are the copper plated sabbots thus far

a guy wants to sell 87 of said balls for $40

i shoot heavy conicals that i cast and range from 420 grains to 680 grains in the 45 cal and 300 grains to 450 grains in the 410cal and 400 to 700 grains in the 50cal.The recoil is there but doesn't rattle the fillings out.Powder charges range from 65grains of 3f 777 to 130 grains of 2f what ever gives the best group is what i use

This is a 100 yard site in first shot is 3 1/2" high {hole above the black}i adjusted the scope and shot 4" higher adjusted again for the third shot and ended at 9 1/2" high at 100 yards right where i wanted to be for the test at 180 yards

This is the 180 yard target {top target} the wind was blowing abit to the right first shot is the one on the far right,i then shot 3 more for group and they cut the 1" line

The gun i used is a White muzzleloader Elite model 98.Load is 70 grs of 777 FFF with a homecast 465gr bullet with a cork wad,the bullet is traveling at 1300fps
i'm pretty happy with this combo
