My 12.5" Grizzly

Big +1 to Canada Ammo. This is my first 12 gauge and I'm really impressed with it.

The 12.5" Dominion Arms Grizzly. As it came out of the package is about as tacticool as it's going to get. My only plans for it are to put a fiber optic sight on it and than shoot the living crap out of it.

Couple of questions, however

#1. Are these made in China? I don't see any markings on it and it didn't come with a manual.

#2. Is it a modified choke that comes with these? I unscrewed it to look at it but I can't tell. The choke itself feels like it's made out of aluminum. If it is a modified choke, is that good enough for skeet and some slugs? Or should I look at getting something else?

#3. If I put the pistol grip on this thing, does that than put the overall length of the gun in the "restricted length" category or would it still be considered non-restricted?

#4. Does anyone know what thread the front sight is? I'd like to replace it but don't know what thread it is or what compatibility it is with another manufacturer.

If your shotgun leaves the factory with a pistol grip, you're golden, but if you modify your shotgun at home to be less than 26 inches, you're not restricted, you're prohibited.

You'll have to send it back to Canada ammo or another licenced manufacturer to have the pistol grip installed (remanufactured gun), and have it keep the non-restricted designation.

Incorrect, that only applies if you shorten the gun buy cutting or sawing to make it under 26". Installation of factory-made parts is OK.

We have read the law and heard the argument. As you already know, the CFC does not agree. There have been many references to a legal case/court challenge to take issue with the (contrary-to-what-has-been-posted-here) official CFC position on this topic. (The NFA's D.A.T. was talking about this in the months before he died. CanAm has also mentioned it.)

It sure would be nice to get this issue resolved. I've been waiting...and I'm still waiting...with much anticipation, to learn of any detail whatsoever of any such case. Any detail(s)?

I was going to order one of them as well.
Mind you,I am still waiting for the free targets they advertise when you sign up.Kinda leery about giving them money and waiting for a gun to show up now

Ya I did not receive my targets either. An I'm local to these guys. LIARS!

Anywho, did not get my gun from them.

An yes these guns are pigs on ammo. Shot off hell I dunno........500 or so rounds on Saturday & another 200 yesterday, all with the pistol grip.

Why don't they call this gun a FIREBALL instead of a Grizzly lol.

Good I was wondering about that. I bought the 12.5 for my ATV when were out riding in bear country (I dont want to be bear scat)and would like to utilise the pistol grip to fit in my backpack discreetly.

So if I install the pistol grip I am legally ok to do so and I dont have to worry about being charged and convicted for having an unregistered restricted or prohibited firearm?

So many people have been advising (wrongly as usual) that if you put the pistol grip on its illegal

I know of one mod who informed a member that posting a pic of a grizzly 12.5 with a pistol grip was a no no because it is prohibited.

So being the grizz 12.5 comes from the factory with the pistol grip I am ok to use it. Someone mentioned you have 30 days to inform the cfc about the change in overal length is this so?
 
Overall length isn't on your certificate. And regardless of what you do, you should never be in possession of an "unregistered" restricted or prohibited firearm.

I wouldn't consider this to be hard usage but first one has seen:
30 x Fed 2 3/4" Slugs
20 x Challenger 2 3/4" Slugs
5 x Fed 3" Slugs (maybe I've gone girly but this is not recommended)
100 x Fed 2 3/4" 00 Buck
50 x Win Ranger 2 3/4" 00 Buck
200+ x assorted Tgt loads
plus whatever nine fed it before me.

No problems and it just seems to get better every time.

The second one has just started to be broke in.
 
1000+ Winchester Value pack.
300+ Winchester 2 3/4" Slugs.
60 Winchester 3" Slugs.
150+ Fiocchi Slugs.
200+ Fiocchi Buckshot.
400+ Rio20 Birdshot.
30+ Ranger LowRecoil Slugs.

I've owned it for......two and a half weeks now?

It's failed to eject several times but it's all due to user error in short stroking the action. Gotta contain that excitement when I shoot this gun.
