Here's a photo or two of my S&W 18-3 I bought at the Woodwards Dep't Store in early 1976. Still have the gun, still in mint condition, but to look at the gun makes me realize how Canada has gone from a once strong and free Nation to the marxist mess it has sunk to.

Thanks for the great pictures.
$190 was probably a lot of money back then lol.

Times have sure changed and not for the better.
I have my pal/rpal less than 10 years and even in that short amount of time freedom and prosperity for Canadians has gone downhill in record speed.

Could buy a brand new Win 94 for $99. - dan

Beautiful gun, I also had one in very nice condition and preferred it to the 6" barreled version.

Also amazing of where you could buy guns back in the day.

Thank you. Beautiful piece. 187$. Your story and pics were used in discussion with my daughter (13 ) about inflation and true value of wealth and property ownership

$187 in 1976 Canadian dollars is worth $911 in 2022 dollars today.

Agree with the OP on the state of affairs today regarding literally everything!

The Model 18 is a very cool S&W wheelgun. Have had a couple over the years. Still have one scored off the 12(x) EE a few years back:

If I remember correctly Downtown Woodwards Vancouver had a great firearms selection . Friend bought an over and under 12 gauge there and I think we walked back to the car with it fully exposed

Very Cool!
Your sentiment rings so very true. The values and freedoms that once made this a great country have eroded away at an exponential rate.

Thank you for sharing!

All the Woodwards I remember from the 60's and 70's had good firearms sections. The Bay wasn't bad either. - dan

And Woodwards had $1.49 [dollar forty nine] days on Tuesdays, too.

Don't recall anything gun related being $1.49, though. :(
